IMPORTANT TRYOUT INFORMATION! 

The Wave Volleyball Club has open tryouts, and contrary to what you may have heard from our competitors, our teams are not set! We highly encourage any player who desires to compete at the highest level of club volleyball to come by and visit the Wave Volleyball Club. The Wave tryouts are OPEN to every player. Our teams CHANGE every year. Last year 10 new players were added to our #1 teams in the older age divisions, 15-18. The Wave is seeking quality players at every age level. At this year’s Junior Olympics in Miami, the Wave earned more medals than any other club in the country! The Wave can only achieve such remarkable success by attracting the best student/athletes from throughout San Diego County. Many come from within our club, but each year players are added from outside. At tryouts, it is our job to select the best players to fill our teams, whether it be present or newly arriving athletes.

Last year the Wave had players from Bishop’s, Canyon Crest, Carlsbad, Cathedral Catholic, Escondido, Francis Parker, La Costa Canyon, La Jolla, Mt. Carmel, OLP, Poway, San Dieguito, Santa Fe Christian, San Pasqual, Torrey Pines, Tri City Christian, and Westview.

The goal of each team at the Wave is to qualify for the USA Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball Championships. The Wave sent 7 teams to the 2009 USA Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball Championships held in Miami, Florida. Only five other teams from all the other clubs combined in San Diego County qualified for the 2009 JO’s.

We are searching for players who want to excel on the volleyball court and classroom as well, with the goal of eventually competing at the collegiate level.
